Summit Pellet Hops (1 lb)
Summit Hops are a dwarf hop variety. Dwarf hops are grown on short trellises mainly in the Yakima Valley. The American Dwarf Hop Association is responsible for the breeding of Summit Hops. A relatively new hop strain, Summit Hops, have only been produced since 2003. The lack of historical data makes it hard to estimate the acid level averages, but are still being estimated to a useful degree. Summit Hops are used both for bittering and aroma. The high alpha acids make it an excellent bittering hop, but it's unique aroma of citrus, grapefruit make it an excellent aroma hop, especially for American style IPAs.
With an aroma of citrus and grapefruit, Summit Hops might make you think it is yet another indeterminable citrus like hop similar to Citra and Amarillo, but Summit Hops lends it's own distinct aroma easily much different from the two.
