The Brewer's Best Starter Equipment Kit includes all of the essential fermenting and bottling equipment you need to brew and bottle your own beer or Kombucha for the first time. Â
Bottles and Recipe Kits sold separately. Each Brewer's Best 5 Gallon Recipe Kit produces about two cases of beer!
If you're brewing for the first time, you'll also need a kettle with some extra capacity so you have enough headspace for a safe rolling boil. For extract batches, a 5 gallon kettle will be sufficient as only ~3 gallons of wort are required to be boiled - the wort is then diluted to 5 gallons which assists with the cooling process prior to adding the yeast. For all grain recipes, you will need a kettle capable of safely boiling 6 or more gallons of wort - for this a kettle of 8 gallons or more is recommended.
Lastly, if you're brewing 5 gallons for the first time you will need a wort chiller to cool the boiling hot brew down to room temperature quickly so you can pitch the yeast and begin fermentation. Chillers hook up to a garden hose or with a kitchen faucet adapter. An ice bath can work initially but a copper immersion chiller is the most efficient and sanitary solution for homebrew wort chilling. Â
