Wormwood - 1 oz

Wormwood has been used in brewing for many, many centuries. It was used in the times prior to hops to help flavour the beer. Wormwood has a mild minty, liquorice aroma, but it has a very strong herbal bittering quality. Wormwood is also the principal ingredient in the liqueur Absinthe.

Wormwood can be used as a bittering agent for beer and a little goes a long way. Caution should be used when it is used in conjunction with or as a replacement for hops. It has flavour characteristics resembling mint and liquorice.
