CellarPro Self Contained 1/4 Ton Outdoor Wine Cooling Unit (400 Cu.Ft. Capacity)
Engineered for outdoor exposure*, CellarPro 1800XTSx-HE wine cooling units deliver 1925 BTUH total / 1602 BTUH sensible capacity at 55F, providing 1/4-ton cooling for small wine cellars up to 400 cubic feet using standard sizing assumptions (no glass, 85F ambient and R-19 insulation throughout).** Built to deliver maximum cooling power in its class, the 1800XTSx-HE features a powerful R-290 refrigerant system, upgraded EC fans, longer-lasting aluminum evaporator coils and robust components engineered for demanding installs where condenser air can range from 20F to 95F. This upgraded unit delivers strong cooling performance with lower energy usage and reduced environmental impact, plus adjustable humidity control to protect corks and labels.
*These units were not designed for marine exposure (within 5 miles of the ocean), and the warranty does not cover related damage. In coastal environments, an applied coating (such as Insitu) is required to help prevent corrosion.
**Deviation from these assumptions should be evaluated using the online Wine Cellar Cooling Calculator.
Starting with CellarPro's 1800XTS-HE cooling unit, they've added the following options and upgrades for outdoor exposure:
- Dual hot-side fans for maximum airflow
- An outdoor hood to protect the rear of the cooling unit from rain
- Rear condensate drain line to channel excess condensate away from the cooling unit
- Compressor heater to protect internal components in temperatures down to 20F
- Power cord modification to allow the unit to be powered from inside the cellar
- Coated condenser coils to protect against outdoor pollutants and extend service life
Please note:
- Clearance requirements: allow at least 5 inches of clearance behind the exterior hood and 18 inches of clearance below the cooling unit outside the cellar. Inside the cellar, allow at least 8 inches of clearance in front of the cooling unit (same as other 1800 cooling units).
- This unit can be used in North America as well as in overseas markets
Key Benefits:
- High-performance cooling: 1925 total / 1602 sensible BTUH @ 55F for reliable temperature and humidity management
- Low-GWP system: R-290 refrigerant with ultra-low GWP and zero-ODP
- EC fan technology: lower energy usage and more powerful airflow
- Longer coil life: aluminum evaporator coils to help resist formicary corrosion and support longer service life
- Adjustable humidity control: Helps protect cork integrity and wine labels
- Compact design: provides the same footprint and produces the most BTUH in its class
Performance Overview:
- Setpoint range: 47F-62F (cellar temperature)
- Designed to maintain ideal cellar conditions: Helps maintain humidity levels that support cork and label protection
- Best fit: Small wine cellars requiring outdoor exposure* and 1/4-ton cooling power using standard sizing assumptions**
The 1800XTSx-HE cooling unit is a strong upgrade for customers seeking:
- The most powerful cooling unit in its class
- A more energy-efficient 1/4-ton wine cellar cooler
- A modern R-290 wine storage cooling solution
Installation Requirements:
For optimum performance and warranty coverage, the 1800XTSx-HE must be installed in a properly insulated, airtight wine cellar with a vapor barrier.
Recommended conditions and sizing assumptions:
- R-19 insulation or better
- No glass walls
- Vapor barrier installed on the warm side
- Ambient temperature: 85F (sizing assumption)
- Condenser air range: 20F to 95F
Ducting guidelines:
- Neither the cold side nor the hot side airflows can be ducted on this model
- If the hot side will be pulling air from the exterior but the unit will not be exposed to the exterior, the 1800XTS-HE may be the better alternative, perhaps with the augmentation of our compressor heater if condenser air will be below 40F
Technical Summary:
- Cooling capacity: 1925 total BTUH, 1602 sensible BTUH
- Nominal size: 1/4 ton wine cooling system
- Refrigerant: R-290, ultra-low GWP
- Fan type: EC (electronically commutated)
- Application: Outdoor exposure* for small wine cellars up to 400 cubic feet using standard sizing assumptions** (no glass, 85F ambient and R-19 insulation throughout)
- Compliance: ETL-certified
