Idaho 7® is a nice experimental hop with hints of citrus, sweet fruit, and pine. A truly exceptional hop, it works best when used as a dual-purpose hop together with Citra or something bitter like Warrior.

Idaho 7® hop is a relatively new style that hasn’t been around for as long as some of the classics. It was developed and released in 2015 by Jackson Hop Farm in Wilder, the state of (you got it right) Idaho!

Initially branded as an experimental hop for those who like to try something new and fresh, Idaho 7® has quickly earned rightful praise from homebrewers all over the country for its undeniably zesty tangerine flavor that is often associated with the taste of marmalade.

What sets Idaho 7® apart from other hops is its unique herbal character that blends perfectly with the citrus, giving off a taste that’s highly reminiscent of fine Earl Grey tea.

Aroma: Guava, apricot, pine, resinous

Typical Alpha Acid Levels: 12.0–15.0%
