Zappa hop features spicy flavour with a lot of tropical fruit notes, pine, and citrus. It works well for hazy IPAs, pale ales, American strong ale, and other mixed-fermentation styles of beer.

Named after the renowned musician American musician, Zappa hop plays along to the same idea of combining distinct styles into a rich, cohesive palette used by Frank Zappa. Its key flavors are spicy, tropical fruit, citrus, and pine.

Although it originally comes from the mountainous parts of New Mexico, the modern Zappa hops are grown exclusively in the Yakima Valley by CLS farms. Due to this combination of dry, arid climate of New Mexico and humid, mild weather of the Pacific Northwest, Zappa hop has got its unique, rebellious flavor and characteristics.

In fact, this contradiction was the idea behind the name – this hop was named after a famous musician Frank Zappa, whose music was so eclectic it never belonged to any specific genre.
